Self acclaimed superstar in the Nigerian music arena Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun and Ghanaian rap music sensation Sarkodie jointly took home the 2012 BET Best International Act: Africa award.

 Sunday’s BET awards ceremony took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Wizkid and Sarkodie, jointly defeated  the three other nominees in the same award category; popular Nigerian rapper-Iceprince, South African singing senstation-lira, Malian rapper-mokobe, and Kenyan Hip-Hop/R&B group-camp mulla.

Wizkid took to micro-blogging site twitter to appreciate his fans, tweeting “Thankful”.

The 2011 edition of the BET Best African Act was also jointly won by Nigerian music giants Tuface and D’banj.
