Fast spitting rapper Neyu Godwin Nyan popularly known as Godwon is back to the record label he left after a much-publicised fued between both parties. Confirming his u-turn back to Seringetti Music over the weekend, the rapper said, “I never left Seringetti and I am glad I lived in the United States because it gave me an upbringing of loyalty,” he said. “Even though I had a bad taste in my mouth about Seringetti, I am always loyal. I am just glad to be grinding again because I think we have the potential to be one of the biggest labels in the country, if not the biggest. We have a force of a label but need to put everything together.” This story is contrary to earlier reports that he and DJ Zeez had quit the label.
With his first album and a mix tape swiftly following, he said plans are underway for another album that will see some prominent musicians featuring. Already he is poised to shoot the video for “Omo Ele” with Banky W and his “Give it to Me” track trending on Notjustok.com
“I just dropped “Give it to Me” on Notjustok.com and it is the first time I ever did a 16 bar verse in pure Hausa. I want to learn different things and give listeners different things. I believe I am very different from any rapper and want to show people that. Uniqueness has a market of its own.”
It would be recalled that Godwon signed to Seringetti Music in 2010 and has Hakym da Dream and Joshbeatz as label mates.
