Better times are here again for send down the rain singer Majek Fashek if latest news reports are anything to go by. Once regarded as a major force in the reggae world in the early 90’s until his alleged romance with drugs robbed him of his shine and relevance, the singer is now ready to bounce back to reckoning.
According to the CEO of A-Plus Entertainment Hajiya Oluremi Dangali, “What he needs is rehabilitation and a strong pillar of support, not hisses or rejection. We cannot close our eyes and fold our arms and watch him waste away all that musical talent just because some people have chosen to label him a fading star. No. At A-Plus, we care and recognise a living legend when we see one and Majek Fashek still has so much in him to contribute to uplift Nigerian music and the entertainment world in general.”
As a sign of commitment to the contract signed between A-Plus and Majek Fashek, he has been handed a two-year recording, promotion and management contract. The deal is said to be valued at several millions of naira. Part of it includes a proposed tour of Italy, Spain, Canada and the USA.
It will be recalled that at the campaign rally of governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo state, Majek showed glimpses of his once brilliance spell but it remains to be seen with this latest deal if he will be able to reclaim his glorious spot once again.
