Jonathan and David Mark to Join Adeboye and other Clerics in Ibadan as Nigeria Prays for Peace

David and Jonathan

In case you are wondering, David and Jonathan are not the biblical characters – that is Jonathan, son of King Saul and his bosom friend, David (the shepherd boy). Although these two are close friends too, or how else could they work together smoothly?

Yes, it is indeed our very own President Goodluck, Ebele, Jonathan and yours truly, Senate President David Mark. The two of them are expected to join the likes of the General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor E. A. and Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith in Ibadan on September 22 in order to pray for peace in the country.

A prayer conference has become necessary as a result of the security situation of the country. According to the coordinator of Nigeria National Fasting and Prayer Day, Prophet Okoduwa Atorkpa, the theme of this year’s conference is “God Save Nigeria”. The cleric made this known while addressing newsmen in Benin, Edo State, on Monday. For him, this year’s event was coming at a time the country was confronted with difficult challenges threatening its unity and peaceful coexistence.

Prophet Atorkpa believes that “the only way to resolve all problems facing the nation was to pray to God to save Nigeria.” he continues: “All we are saying today is that if there is anything the country has neglected, it is prayers. I want to make it clear that no individual or group of persons can save Nigeria except God… We are at a position where we require the presence of God because the battle in Nigeria today is spiritual.”

  1. Yes, of a truth {GOD} He has the final say for our great country ‘NIGERIA’. Jeremiah 32:27{Behold, i am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?} He’s the God of impossibility Possible, by him every things are possible. In the scripture Ezekiel 37, when the Lord carried Ezekiel out in the spirit of the Lord, & set him down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones by them round about; behold, there were very many & lo, they were very dry. And he said unto him, ‘son of man, can these bones live again? Can NIGERIA live again? Can NIGERIA be REVIVE again? YES, HE has the final say. GOD is the answer, Nigeria can be restore back again.

  2. In as much that I believe in the power of prayers…..I also understand from my bible that prayer without works is dead. I do respect these men of God but these other pretenders who are supposed represent our interests….What have they done only to loot the treasury dry. From the executive to judiciary and worst of them the legislative.

I’m not God but if I were God…I will just be watching and laughing how we are fooling ourselves and not put our hands to work expecting God to come down from heaven and solve our problem.

I believe God has done His part but we refused to do our parts now calling Him to do our portions for us. What a funny world. I think we should put our thinking caps on and stop fooling ourselves

    God bless Nigeria
