Despite having a tough upbringing, she always knew she’d make it in music.
Canadian singer,Nelly Furtado has said she always knew she’d be great. The Grammy award winner ensured her dreams came true by not giving up, but she’s still got her good character despite the fame.

”I always saw it. I first performed when I was four. I really had a vision of performing in front of hundreds of people when I was that young. I always knew it would happen. I saw myself sitting at the Grammies … I saw myself opening for U2 or whatever. It was a sure thing for me. I was lucky that way.”

The 33-year-old pop star has a nine-year-old daughter Nevin; her child with former partner Jasper Gahunia, and she realises that family and happiness are the most important things in life.

”True success is health and balance in one’s life and making time for hobbies and family. It’s the difference between seeing success as a destination and as a journey. The idea that dreams come true and everything will be perfect? It doesn’t work that way.”

Nelly not only sings, she also plays the guitar, keyboards, ukulele, trombone
