Revealed: What Your Husband Really Thinks When He Says ‘You Look Lovely In That Dress’

To be honest, most women have done this: sought reassurance from our husband or partner about an outfit we love. She who has never, should cast the first stone. So many times the women in our lives (wife, mother, girlfriend or lover) ask us how they look in a particular dress and we almost (i.e men) want to burst out laughing but we put up a straight face and respond, ‘Oh! it looks lovely’ when we actually mean, ‘Oh! did you just come out from the middle ages?’

However, it has now been revealed that chances are the men lie to keep the women happy. A recent survey found one in four men regularly don’t like what their partner’s wearing — but half of them are too afraid to tell the truth in case sparks fly.

Is this true? We would like to know from the men folk –  would you mind telling the truth about how your woman looks in that dress or you’ll just lie to make her happy? And for the womenfolk, how will you feel if after asking your man to compliment your dress, he straight away disapproves of it?

  1. Seriously, d way u say it matters alot. U dnt just come out straight to tel a woman she’s nt fyn, after she has taken a whole day 2 dress up wit all d mary kay or sleek. May u can go lyk ds, ”babe u’re gorgeous, buh i’ll prefer u put on sth lyk ds”. Dat sounds more lovely

  2. I don’t hold back in telling my wife if her outfit look good on her or not. This because I like to show her off and like to find myself in a situation where I’ll be reluctant in introducing her to anyone.
The way your woman looks has a lot to say about who/the kind of person you are i.e. whether you have tatse and class…

  3. Its true, sometimes they even come up with three different clothes and be asking which one amongst the three fits them most. Sometimes, when am fed up I recommend any one she shows me just for her to leave me alone. Sometimes when this is happening when you are watching your favourite programme on TV or busy doing something its difficult to follow them, instead you say yes for her to be happy.
