A 21 year old company worker, Jacob Victor has been arraigned before an Isolo Magistrate Court, Lagos for allegedly stealing his employer’s 650 generators valued at N15 million.
Victor was arrested and arraigned with the buyer of the stolen generators, Chigozie Chukwuka who trades at Aswani Market, Isolo, Lagos.
He was charged with conspiracy and stealing, while Chukwuka was charged for receiving and buying stolen goods.
Jacob Victor, an employee of Challarams Plc, Aswani, Isolo allegedly stole 650 Jinling generators and sold them at a giveaway price to Chukwuka.
Chukwuka was arrested because Police found stolen generators in his shop and he could not explain satisfactorily how he got them when questioned.
While the police interrogate Chukwuka, he confessed that he bought the generators from Victor.
They were both charged to court for the offences they committed contrary to and punishable under sections 516, 390 and 427 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
The suspects pleaded not guilty.
Presiding magistrate, Mrs M.O. Ajayi, granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties in like sum and asked that they be remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons until they meet their bail conditions. She adjourned the case till October 24.
200 of the stolen generators had been recovered since the arrest of the two suspects.
