#FoodClique World Food Day | Do We Care Enough?

foodIn today’s world, genuinely caring for others has always been a vitally important step towards the growth and development of any nation. For Me, It is good that one cares but nowadays, it goes more than caring. It goes beyond merely saying that we care as showing that one cares should be backed by actions and priorities. Genuine caring today compels you to work for what you care about. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring all of which have potentials to turn a life around.

Over the past year,I’ve worked with FoodClique and the UN World Food Programme team in a bid towards ending hunger worldwide. I’ve come to find out that Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver. With difficulties most times and introspections, I push on with support knowing that only a few people have indeed ever made an impact in the world. Even when I feel my worst, the thought of My contribution feeding someone somewhere in a clime gives satisfaction.

Dear friend, as I self-introspect these days with the World Food Day(16th October) drawing closer, two questions fill my mind : What am I doing to bring about a more efficient society?, and How do I use my leisure time?. I ponder if I’m to retire into My little world and continue self enjoyment or to dedicate it towards alleviating causes such as hunger and malaria. These questions haunt daily and I want you to ponder as well if we’re to leave the society and its ills or take action.

On October 16th, We at FoodClique are going out en masse to feed the hungry in the slums of Lagos state. Three centres have been earmarked for this – OKOBABA, ODUNFA and MAKOKO. For those in luxury, lets not blatantly ignore the other two-third of our brothers and sisters in impoverished situations across the country. You can do something to end the plague of hunger today. With 935 million people hungry worldwide, Do we care enough?

Please don’t merely wish for positive outcomes on these sojourns, Express your caring with effectiveness and meaningful results. Care enough to do the real work, take action. Support towards ending hunger worldwide today through various channels(FOODCLIQUE,WFP,

WFPstudents). Even if it’s a little thing, do something for others, something for which you get no pay for but the privilege of doing it.     Folks, Your caring makes a difference when you step forward and make a difference.
