Reports from Jos, Plateau state say no fewer than four persons, who were said to be friends, have been killed, and seven others seriously injured when suspected gun-toting Fulani herdsmen stormed a ‘Burukutu Joint’(local bar) at Gindin Akwati in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government of the state.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the joint and opened fire on the people drinking inside the beer parlour.
The seven injured persons are currently receiving treatment at the Plateau Hospital in Jos.
A source in the area said the bar was attacked late Sunday night, although no one seemed to know the motive behind the attack.
Spokesman of the Plateau state police command, Mr Emmanuel Abuh while confirming the incident said the Police got the report of the attack on Monday morning. He added that the police would look into the matter and follow every available lead to get to its root.
Fulani herdsmen suspected to be behind the attack, have been behind several others in the past in which many lives have been lost.
