Groom Kidnapped On Wedding Day Found After Five Days; Family Head Seeks Spiritual Help to Fish out Perpetrators

Officers of the Kwara State Police command have commenced investigation into the abduction of a 35-year old man who was kidnapped by unknown men on his wedding day and was found five days after. The reason behind the abduction is a mystery police hope to resolve as soon as they can.

Kwara State Police Command spokesman, Femi Elubode , said though he is aware of the incident, the Police A Division at Challenge, Ilorin where the incident was said to have been reported , had not briefed his office.

“And if we are not officially briefed of any incident, it will be difficult to know the level of investigation. I have not been briefed yet,” Elubode said.

Reports say the victim, Zubair Aliyu Balogun disappeared on Friday, September 28 and he was not found until October 2, 2012 when he turned up naked at Kangu-Olunlade village, Ilorin where he was found by an Okada rider, drenched to the teeth and shivering in the early morning rain. The Okada rider later contacted his family after he had been hospitalized.

Head of Balogun-Fulani family where the victim hails from, Alhaji Mahmud Durosinlorun Atiku Fulani said the family did not suspect anything prior to the abduction. He however vowed that the family would use all legal and spiritual means to get to the root of the matter.
