PDP Congratulates Olusegun Mimiko… Blasts ‘Champions Of Ethnic Politics’

The National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has conceded victory in Saturday’s guber polls in Ondo state to Dr Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party and has congratulated him accordingly.

The people of Ondo State were also commended for shunning tribalism & narrow political adventurism in the just concluded polls which the PDP alleged was the hallmark of the campaign of the Action Congress of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary on Sunday, Chief Olisa Metuh, the PDP also saluted the courage, determination and doggedness of its candidate, Chief Olusola Oke adding, ‘though the PDP was not declared the winner of the election’, the Party was happy with the performance of its candidate ‘who obviously joined the race late.’

The self acclaimed largest political party in Africa also hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the security agencies for the peaceful conduct of the polls, but however urged them to ‘learn from any observed loopholes so as to continue improving in future elections.’
