Reality Of Life: Fashola Versus Okada Riders [Photo Speak]

Since the implementation of the new Lagos state traffic laws which restricted the operation of commercial motorcycles known as okada on 475 routes in the state, residents of the commercial city have been adjusting to a new type of life without that means of transportation.

The pictures below tell a tale of betrayal by the Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola against okada riders. But the question many continue to ask is, are there ready alternative means of transportation in place to ameliorate the peoples’ sufferings?

  2. Fhashola has dissappionted me and a whole lot of lagosians.
Where are the alternative means of transport?
What now happens to the now jobless citizens of Nigeria?
Are there no other means of regulating the operations of okada operators so that sanity will return to our roads.
Its obvious that A.C.N will have problem come next election.

  3. I believe with that sacrifice has to be made and we should not close our eyes to reality and the disadvantaged that the okada riders are causing in Lagos and also entire country. The decsion is affecting all of us that make use of their service but we should give our governor a chance.

  5. Come to think of it. ,BRF has renderd so many people jobless, some people would even lost their jobs by the time they leave their various houses 6am and still get to work 9/10 am prolly cause they are stalked in the traffic and they gets query everyday,I’m sure he knows everybody does not have a car ! Thieves would be very plenty due to their joblessness ….anyways I urge him to give that law a second thought .

  6. Okada riders are a disgrace to Lagos, and Nigerian people. Motocycle as a means of transportation is a form of mechanical Sharia that cutsds hand, legs, necks, paralysis, even unsuspecting passangers are killed, ceating thousands of beggers, widows and widowers, ophans etc. Also, a large percentage of Okada riders use their bike as a tool to rubb, steal, and kidnap people. So the precense of Okada in Nigerian society is bad to the well being of the people. Fashola as a governor promissed to take care and protect the people of Lagos State, and that is exactly what he is doing. The ACN will get my vote again.
