Yinka Ayefele’s Multi Million Naira Edifice Marked For Demolition By Oyo State Government

On Friday, October 5, 2012 Yinka Ayefele, popular yoruba contemporary gospel singer and performer got wind of plans by the Oyo state government to mark his multi-million naira building (located on Falana Road, a few metres after Efunsetan round-about) for demolition.

According to reports, the Oyo State government is demolishing the mansion to make way for its proposed 8-lane road.

The mansion which boasts of a fully equipped standard audio and visual studio, two multi-purpose halls, an internet radio station (www.ayefelefreshfm.mobi) and several other offices, has are over 80 employees working there.

According to Yinka Ayefele’s publicist, the singer was not given any prior notice about the planned demolition and he was shocked to hear about it.

However, the singer went ahead to church where he was billed to perform and did so without betraying any emotions as he was said to be in a state of disbelief.

If the singer followed the laid down rules and regulations in acquiring the land and sighting his edifice upon it, it is expected that the government would do the right thing by compensating him adequately because N200 million is no child’s play. Beside, if he is not compensated, his source of livelihoood as well as those who work under him would have been dealt a massive blow.

  • Government have to be wise about this by seeing to it that more havoc’s re not caused in the society by the reason of creating roads..if every document proves that the singer acquired the property legally…please let him be compensated and all the workers too..

  • The government should stop that nonsense o..Ayefele the musican icon! They should try to avoid violence or pandemonium cos boiz go scatter places o…ayefele is a public figure respected and luv by many!

  • If there are rules and regulations to comply with for people putting up structures, and if Yinka Ayefele complied with such rules and regulations; if he duly obtained approvals for his building: and if the road project is for the overall benefit of society and the building has to give way for the road, then the State should provide him with a suitable alternative plot where he can erect another structure. In addition, Government must compensate him adequately.
