Breaking News: Another Tanker Сrash Сauses Diversion, Gridlock Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

For the third time with a week, a tanker has crashed along the Ibadan – Lagos Expressway spilling fuel on the road.

The crash occurred after the Redeem Camp on the expressway, forcing the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, to divert traffic.

A post by the FRSC social media coordinator said a tanker with registration number XE 545 LRN crashed and spilled fuel on the road.

“Traffic is heavy and there is a congestion around the scene. Motorists from Lagos are advised to go through the alternative route Mowe – Ofada – Papalanto and come back to the express road through the Shagamu interchange while, those from Ibadan axis should divert from the Shagamu Interchange to Papalanto – Ofada – Mowe,” the road safety corps said.

The FRSC said its officers and Fire Service officials are at the scene to effect traffic rules and maintain law and order.

“Motorists are advised to be patient and cautious please,” the FRSC said.
