NDLEA Impounds 3,500kg of Indian Hemp in Zamfara Allegedly Brought in from Ondo State

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) report that the agency has impounded 3,500 kilogrammes of Cannabis Satiba, known as Indian hemp in Gusau. This was made known by the Zamfara State Command of the agency.

The State Commander, Alhaji Bala Muhammad, told newsmen in Gusau on Monday that officials of the agency apprehended a vehicle loaded with the substance following a tip off. According to him, the vehicle which was loaded with the prohibited substance was on its way to Talata Mafara in the state from Ondo.

The commander said the driver had been arrested while search is on to apprehend the owner of the goods, who had absconded. However, he did not give the number of the vehicle because of ongoing investigation.

Muhammad explained that the substance was concealed in cartons of fish and covered with other items in the vehicle to hide its contents.
