Delta State Police Deny Knowledge Of $1bn Ransom For Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Mom

Contrary to speculations that the abductors of  Kanene Okonjo, the mother of Nigeria’s minister of finance are demanding $1billion as ransom, the police in Delta state has denied knowledge of any such demands.

Delta state police commissioner, Ikechukwu Aduba, said the police is not aware of the speculated demands even as he said the police are working hard to rescue the 85 year old professor.

It would be recalled that Kanene Okonjo, a retired don, was on Sunday afternoon kidnapped from her home at about 1:30 pm by eight gunmen who invaded her husband’s palace at Ogbe-Ofu quarters in Ogwahi-Uku.
