Following allegations of skewed recruitment in favour of applicants from certain section of the country and non-advertisement of its recruitment process, the Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro has directed the immediate cancellation of the ongoing recruitment exercise into the Nigeria Immigration Service.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, George Udoh, the Minister stated that “following apparent controversy trailing the ongoing recruitment exercise in Nigeria Immigration Service the responsible thing to do is to cancel the exercise until a more transparent, acceptable and efficable platform is established to enlist qualified Nigerians into the service.”
Comrade Moro directed further that all appointment letters issued and documentation carried out stand cancelled until the Civil Defence immigration and Prisons Service board, meet to consider the waiver granted the Nigeria Immigration Service to recruit men and women into the service.
It would be recalled that the Controller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs Rosemary Chinyere Uzoma, who has just three months to the expiration of her tenure, while defending the secret recruitment exercise into the service at the insistence of the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Character, said, the decision was taken so as not to unknowingly recruit terrorists into the highly sensitive organization.
I much like the treasured facts you give on your content.I
A good one from the FG. Custom should be next. I’ve never seen their advert and yet people are employed. Nigeria belongs to all of us.
Plz in form me on any infor regarding recruitment in nigeria
Nice job from the FG, with the excuse that was given about the secret recruitment i don’t buy it well, because it’s not a guarantee that the bad eggs will not penetrate, the most and secure way of doing it is the screening should be done without bias.
very fantanstic mr. abba romo
Talking abt Terrorists, isn’t the duties of the Immigration service to screen nd satisfy that person a foreigner or not. Come to think this! Custom service should b the next to b looked into cos we are all Nigerians than allowing the High nd privilege once always given the opportunity.
That is great, the FG should equal move to other forces and do the same. This inservice recruitment is nt doing well, so many graduates are out there without job ending their lives in crimes. The best to do is to put the recruitment exercise on newspapers and internet. With this, so many nigerian graduates wil struggle and whom the cap fits let him wear, thanks.
So in a nut shell,no more documentation exercise,or wat is d way forward for those dat ar employement ar cancelled
Tanks
What a very wellcome development we dont have jobs and they are busy sharing it like its thier fathers.
What about d one dt have gone true d recruitment execise are they going to do what?
What is the fate of those employed, they should employ others to them, or better re- scrutinize them….this is really heartbreaking
”cancel the exercise until a more transparent, acceptable and efficable platform is established to enlist qualified Nigerians into the service” – Fantastic
