Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has noted that the association is ready to support the Federal Government towards setting up a panel to investigate the chopper crash which killed Governor Patrick Yakowa and others, but expressed doubt over the sincerity of the action.
Oritsejafor was speaking on Tuesday, at the Sir Ibrahim House, Kaduna, shortly after condoling with the Kaduna State government and family members of the late Yakowa, adding that they supported the move and were looking forward to the report. He was represented by the National General Secretary of CAN, Reverend Musa Asake.
According to him, “We have heard of panels of investigation being set up and reports submitted in the country, we hope and pray that the Federal Government releases the report of this one and take action. It is not just setting up the panel, we want an outcome of the panel… So CAN is solidly behind the Federal Government in doing this and we are calling on the Federal Government that if the report is submitted, it should please act on the report,” he said.
On the new administration, he says: “We welcome the new governor and promise to pray with him so that the Lord will grant him success. We are so happy to hear that he is following the footsteps of the late governor and we pray that the Lord will back him up.”
