MTN Closes Kano, Kaduna Centres Following Attack

Following the suicide bomb attack on the MTN switch facility in Kano yesterday that serves 13 northern states, the telecommunications giant has announced the closure of its offices in Kano and Kaduna over security fears.
This was made known in a statement on MTN Nigeria’s Facebook account. It reads:
“We wish to inform our esteemed customers that our Kano and Kaduna service centres will be closed to the general public on Monday 24, Thursday 27, and Friday 28 December 2012. We are compelled to do so as a result of recent insurgent attacks on our facilities in the Kano area.
“Heightened security concerns in these areas will also affect our ability to carry out routine maintenance and fault resolution to our installations and we apologise in advance to our customers in Kano and Kaduna for any quality of service challenges that may arise as a result. “
