NEMA Calls Off Search And Rescue As Bodies Of Yakowa, Azazi, Four Others Are Recovered

The National Emergency Management Agency said on Saturday that it had recovered six bodies from the scene of  the Navy helicopter crash  in Nembe, Bayelsa.

The crash killed the Governor of Kaduna State, Mr Patrick Yakowa, a former National Security Adviser, Gen. Patrick Aziza and four others.

This is contained in a statement  by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Yushau Shuaib.

“The operation which involved the collaborations of response agencies and volunteers led to the recovery of the bodies of all six passengers on-board the helicopter.

“While the bodies have been deposited in the mortuary, further details on the victims will soon be announced after their families have been formally informed,” it said.

The statement added that  search and rescue operations had been called off. (NAN)

  1. Fire burnt them, without recognizing whom they were, powerful, influential, respected, high achievers, wealthy you name it and finally passed on to eternity. What a cruel way to transit from this world. My heart felt sympathy to their wives ,children that suddenly changed statues, . It can happen to anybody. How prepared are you..The fraudulent things that some people do to en mass wealth, how many follow them to eternity.
