UCL Round Of 16: Sir Alex Ferguson To Order Some ‘Good Wine’ For Rival

As Manchester United and Real Madrid brace up to trade tackles in the last 16 of the Champions League, Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed happiness at reuniting with his former star player, Cristiano Ronaldo as well as his former fierce rival at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho.

For Ronaldo, the March 5 2013 second leg tie will be his first trip to Old Trafford since leaving in a world-record £80m move in 2009.

“[It will be a] great opportunity for our fans to see Cristiano again and also for me to meet up with Jose again – I’ll need to order some good wine,” Sir Alex joked upon seeing his side paired with the record nine-times Champions League winners.

The Red Devils will be hoping to do represent the city of Manchester better after their rivals, Manchester City, took just one point from the two Group D clashes against Mourinho’s men before crashing out of the competition at the first hurdle.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have not faced each other since the quarter-finals in 2004, when a magnificent Ronaldo De Lima hat-trick in the second leg at Old Trafford inspired the Spaniards to a 6-5 aggregate victory.
