Suspected Boko Haram members, Thursday, attacked the house of a blind man in Maiduguri, Borno state, Mallam Peter Jella, and shot him dead in the presence of his wife and children in the Zajiri ward of the metropolis.
The brutal attack also left his son with injuries sustained from stray bullets.
According to Abdu Ibrahim, a witness to the incident, the gunmen had trailed the 45-year-old Jella to his house and demanded for him, before hot lead was pumped into his head and chest.
Ibrahim also told newsmen that Jella had earlier been issued a threat letter to relocate from the area, as he was allegedly accused of providing information on the hideouts and activities of the sect in Maiduguri.
Quite expectedly, the deceased paid no heed to the warning before he was finally shot dead.
