fayemiAs a sign of confidence in the performance of incumbent governor of Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the tate has nominated him as its candidate for next year’s governorship election in the state.

This declaration was made at a general meeting of the party at the country home of former governor, Niyi Adebayo at Iyin Ekiti.

The former governor while stating his unequivocal support for Fayemi in the forthcoming election scheduled for 2014, added that the decision was a unanimous decision one taken by the party’s leadership. Adebayo also further solicited the support of every indigene of Ekiti state for the party’s anointed candidate.

Reacting to the early endorsement, the state governor welcomed the move but noted that there is still more to be done ahead of the governorship election. “We are only half way” he stated.
