Following his recent outburst in an interview with a daily newspaper that the PDP is dead in Oyo, Senator Rasidi Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State has been described as a drowning and desperate politician.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Alhaji Bisi Olopoenia, made this declaration while commenting on the former governor’s claim that PDP is dead in Oyo State. Alhaji Olopoenia said it is unfortunate that Senator Ladoja who has been negotiating his return to the party over two years ago could come out and say such party is dead. He said the outburst of the former governor clearly demonstrated someone who is struggling to be heard.
According to Olopoenia, “Senator Ladoja’s move to return to the PDP over the years is known to the public. It is rather unfortunate that his personal ambition of becoming the governor of Oyo State in 2015 is still driving him towards making such statement… If we don’t have PDP or the party is dead as he claimed, would he be negotiating and still talking to the party elders as he also claimed in the interview? The party is aware of his new tricks to blackmail the PDP.
“As to us, the door of the party is open to him and would be welcomed anytime he concludes his research on 2015. Senator Ladoja himself knows that PDP is a team to beat in any election in Oyo State and the party is strategically positioned to contest in any election soonest,” Olopoenia said.
