Job Description

Job Purpose

  • To achieve and effectively manage and coordinate all activities related to sales of data products, devices and VAS.
  • To develop, coordinate and manage all specialized channels for the sales promotion and adoption of data products, devices and VAS thereby ensuring data subscriber base increase and revenue growth.

Key Responsibility
Retail expansion, Key Retail Outlets (KRO), Smart Phone Outlets (SPO) and Consumer Durables & Information Technology (CDIT)

  • Responsible for increasing point of sale by activating KROs, SPOs and CDITs based on HQ guidelines to ensure 100% penetration in SPOs and CDITs.
  • Facilitating field force dimensioning, productivity, promotional activities, effectiveness and payouts.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Data Specific Channel Partner Appointment

  • Responsible for recruiting and managing data specific channel partners.
  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the region/industry; researching and analyzing sales options
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Company activities.
  • Facilitating field force dimensioning, productivity, promotional activities, effectiveness and payouts.

Data Visibility

  • Ensure visibility of data products across the region by focusing on POS branding, experiential marketing and new site launch activities.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Company activities.

Depth of Distribution with Data Product Portfolio

  • Ensure product availability at all Airtel point of sales, channel partners and warehouses in the region.
  • Plan and drive merchandise excellence.
  • Maintain technical knowledge depth and ensure availability of after sales support.

Primary sales; Dongles, recharges etc

  • Responsible for the primary sales of dongles and devices.
  • Drive the 3G sales by implementing 3G sales strategies in the respective regions.
  • Compiling and analyzing regional sales figures by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information to ensure daily/weekly/monthly reports are prepared and shared timely.
  • Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Cascading set targets to regional 3G sales team according to company guidelines to ensure financial and other targets and goals are met or exceeded.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Company activities.
  • HBO/ OEM/Sales & Engagement
  • Responsible for HBO sales
  • Responsible for reverse and forward bundling
  • HBO SIM activation
  • Engagement with Local Partners for HBOs
  • Liaise and work with HB channels
  • Reporting and analysising the HBOS market
  • Engage the OEM channels like computer channels etc
  • Drive Bundled opps with the OEM and computer sellers

Data Subscriber Base Enhancement: Data Revenue Enhancement

  • Responsible for the primary sales of all data products
  • Ensuring availability of all 3G related products.
  • Ensuring uality customer acquisition and retention.
  • Maintain technical knowledge depth and ensure availability of after sales support.

Data Revenue Enhancement

  • Responsible for the primary sales of recharges to the data subscriber base.
  • Ensuring availability of all 3G recharges
  • Ensure product availability in regional warehouse
  • Technical Depth and Support
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Enhances related reports accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.

Other Products

  • Responsible for GTM and Revenues for other Data products that may be launched from time to time

Network and Service Engagement

  • Ensure network performance and management on 3G
  • Manage customer and trade escalations

Channel Enhancement and Development

  • Coordinate and facilitate exhibitions and presentations to drive Airtel Data value proposition to key stakeholders – Youths, HNIs etc within Region.
  • Identify channel development opportunities and ensure aggressive drive of data value proposition through Cooperative Organisations, SMEs, Associations and Professional organizations etc.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Business Management, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Master’s in Business Administration or Management will be an advantage
  • Project Management qualification will be an advantage
  • 8+ years of commercial/business management experience
  • 2+ years of team leadership experience
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in data products and/or enterprise solutions
  • Excellent knack of market working.
