Ekiti State belongs to the PDP – Mr Ayo Fayose

ayodele-fayose-2Mr Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has said that he will not be intimidated in the 2014 governorship race in the state. In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, on Sunday, by the Director of Publicity and Research of his campaign organisation, Mr Idowu Adelusi, Fayose said he was making the statement “against the backdrop of what he termed unhealthy politicking going on, borne out of struggles by some aspirants to get the party’s ticket.”

He said, “I am not a former governor anybody or group could intimidate, because of his resolve to govern the state again.” Fayose however, observed in the statement that “though such bickering are normal where aspirants are jostling for the party’s ticket,”

To him, “Ekiti State belongs to the PDP and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) took over the state due to misunderstanding among the state PDP leaders… the differences have been sorted out and PDP is now ready to reclaim the state.”

The former governor, who was also reported to have spoken at a programme in Emure Ekiti in Emure Local Government Area of the state while addressing leaders and members of the PDP, pointed out that he decided to “come out to contest in the 2014 governorship poll to stop the political and economic drift in the state… I am in the race purposely to stop the political and economic drift in the state.”

  1. Usually, people like Fayose who accidentally became governors ought to be ignored, but silence they say means consent.
I frankly think he is broke and is making noise to seek relevance so that he could be settled as usual. My question to him is,since he left office, how many political party card does he have?
Ekiti people are educated, exposed and very enlighten and have long forgotten Ibadan boy,Fayose long ago!

  2. My question is, has Fayose being cleared by the EFCC to contest the 2014 governorship election? More also, I don’t think there is vacancy in Ekiti government house for the moment. I am not opposed to Fayose as a person but his party PDP.
