Kogi Governor Set to Resume Office after Surviving Auto Crash

Kogi State governor, Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada, is expected to resume duties at his Lugard office in Lokoja, tomorrow, after recuperating in Abuja for over two months,

It will be recalled that Governor Wada got injured during a ghastly auto crash last year which involved his motorcade while returning from an official engagement in Anyigba. While the governor and his driver escaped death his Aide-de-Camp, Idris Mohammed, an Assistant Suprintendent of Police, was unlucky as he lost his life in the accident.

After first aid treatment at the state Specialist Hospital in Lokoja, the governor was subsequently taken to Hilder Crest Hospital in Abuja for a comprehensive treatment. Here he was treated by autopaedic doctors for crushed bones, and he has now been certified fit and able to resume duties.

Governor Wada however struck a popular cord when contrary to the practice among politicians and the novue riche, he opted to stay in the country and not travel abroad for medication.
