Mali goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa compared Super Eagles’ Wednesday’s opposition to that of five-time World Cup champions Brazil. Mali succumbed to a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Nigerians in the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Durban.

The 22-year-old, who plays for Guingamp in France, says their team doesn’t deserve any blame for such a huge loss after CAN 2013, since Keshi is a professional coach and would go for the highest bidder.

According to the player, Nigerian people seem not to appreciate what Keshi is doing with the team.

But that had changed since Super Eagles woke up from their slumber and performed excellently against bookmakers’ choice, Cote d’Ivoire. Nigerians in South Africa have been praising Keshi and his Eagles to high heavens.

The Nigeria Football Federation, which had supported Keshi financially and morally, are yet to react to Keshi’s threat of jumping the ship.
