At least seven persons were killed as fresh hostilities on Saturday broke out between Adadama community of Cross River State and the Ikwo people of Ebonyi State, reports said.
Eyewitnesses say a group of over 40 armed men from Ebonyi State invaded Adadama community killing seven persons and injuring over 20. The bodies of the victims were said to have been deposited at the mortuary in Itigidi.

Both communities last month entered a peace accord in a meeting held in Abuja. It therefore came as a surprise that such hostilities could come up so soon.
The government of both states have therefore been called on to look into the matter and find a lasting solution to the strife.
