The insecurity situation in Kano State took an unprecedented turn barely 24hours after a suicide bomber rammed his vehicle into a luxury bus loaded with passengers as a female Police DPO simply identified as Esther Tarimo was shot dead at Daurawa, Maiduguri Road in the ancient city.

The police officer was killed at about 7.30am on Tuesday as she was going to drop her son off in school.

Although details of the assassination are sketchy, it was gathered that the DPO was killed by unknown gunmen who rode in a tricycle popularly called ‘Keke NAPEP’.

The police have sealed off the area.
