Buhari Condoles Gangwari Of Ganye Over Recent Attack By Gunmen

Buhari-11Former Head of State, retired Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the people of Ganye in Adamawa over the recent attack by unknown gunmen.

He expressed the condolence during his visit to the Gangwari of Ganye, Alhaji Umaru Sanda at the Palace on Thursday.

Buhari, who was represented by the Chairman of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Alhaji Mohammed Waziri, sympathised with the people over the loss of lives and property.

“On behalf of our presidential candidate, the CPC National Headquarters, state governorship candidate Buba Marwa and the entire CPC family, we wish to register our sympathy with you and the entire people of your chiefdom over the unfortunate incident of loss of lives and property that occurred in the area,” Buhari said.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and quick recovery of the lost property.

“We pray to the Almighty to expose the perpetrators and continue to protect the country from these ungodly acts,” he said.

Responding, the Gangwari of Ganye, Alhaji Umaru Sanda thanked Buhari and other party officials for identifying with them at their hour of need.

“What really happened in Ganye town is sad and pitiful, the teams of soldiers and police that were supposed to protect our lives and property all abandoned us and ran away during the attack. We are (sic) just waiting for our death on that day because nobody protected us,” Gangwari  said.

He called on the people to pray for divine intervention so that the country would witness permanent peace and stability.
