Chief Anenih Advises PDP Governors on how to Take Nigerians “to the Promised Land”

anenihThe Chairman PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Chief Anthony Anenih, has stressed the need for members of the party to reconcile their differences.

Speaking while addressing a meeting of the PDP Governors’ Forum in Abuja, Anenih said: “If anybody says that PDP is not on ground, he must be telling lies. The problem PDP has is the inability to reconcile.”

The veteran politician said that the challenges ahead of the party were enormous, adding that there was the need for members to be up and doing to ensure the success of the party at all levels of government: “Our people are eagerly waiting to make sure that we take them to the Promised Land and it is you that will make that happen, there is no other person… It is my special appeal that we must develop the spirit of give and take; we must remain loyal to the establishment and the party at all levels,’’ Anenih said.

Anenih noted that once all contentious issues are resolved, the party and the country will move forward. Congratulating the governors on the formation of the forum, and expressing optimism that it would enable them discuss issues freely in the interest of Nigerians, the chairman assured the forum of the support of the PDP BoT members. But he reminded the governors that as pillars of the party, a lot was expected of them: “We will give you every support and advice as BoT members, but you being the pillars of the party, much is expected of you… Sincerity, commitment, hard work, loyalty is needed of you at all times. There should be no pretence,” Anenih advised.
