Job Title: Marketing & Innovations Finance Manager
Level: Level 5 (M1)
Reports To: Commercial Finance Director

Purpose of the Role
The Marketing & Innovations Finance Manager is a business partner to the Marketing & Innovations function. The role will work closely with the Marketing Leadership Team on converting financial analysis into insights that would drive effective decision making.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Key Finance Business Partner to the Marketing Director and the Marketing Leadership team
  • Playing a critical financial coaching role by increasing the financial capabilities of the Marketing Leadership Team and the wider Marketing team
  • Challenging and leading stakeholders to drive outstanding business performance

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide financial analysis for the Marketing Function to support decision making
  • Provide Marketing input into the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process including; preparing breakdown of Advertising & Promotions (A&P) by category and brand, loading Internal Orders for the year into SAP and monitor budgetary controls and managing SAP changes arising from Annual Operating Plan (AOP) decisions
  • Brand, Innovation and Performance analysis, monitoring and reporting
  • Challenge and Build on Marketing & Innovation Marketing Recommendations (MRs) to ensure robust pre-evaluations are performed and adequate key performance indicators are set to deliver value
  • Assist the Marketing Leadership team in ensuring Controls Audit and Risk Management (CARM) compliance on Marketing Financials and reporting, testing controls and assessing results and potential improvements

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Graduate calibre with Professional qualification (ACCA/ACA)
  • Minimum of 7 years post qualification experience in an FMCG company
  • Strong Commercial/Marketing Finance and Decision Support experience within an FMCG is required
  • Experience with SAP and Magnitude is an added advantage
  • Excellent project management skills working with cross-functional teams
  • Credible and strong influencer at senior management levels
  • Self starter, highly committed and delivers against goals with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead others through personal impact across organisation

Barriers to Success in Role

  • Lack of attention to detail
  • Little influencing and relationship management skills
  • Lack of creativity to identify new approaches to business issues
  • Inability to plan work or deliver to high quality within tight deadlines
