Job Description

As Finance Manager you will report directly to the Finance Director, UK & Nigeria and will be responsible for all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual lifecycle of the Nigerian finance function.

The successful Finance Manage will be expected to prepare and submit reporting schedules to EMEA using reporting system Hyperion. Acting as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and other senior members of the Nigerian team, the Finance Manager will lead the cash management process at ISNL, including flow planning, reporting and forecasting to ensure an efficient use of cash.

The Finance Manager will be based in the Invensys offices in Port Harcourt, Nigeria with the Finance Director based in the UK, therefore successful candidates will need to be comfortable working in a remote team and confident communicating using email and telephone communication.

Principal Accountabilities
The main responsibilities for the successful candidate will include but are not limited to;

• Leading the cash management process at ISNL, including cash flow planning, reporting and forecasting to ensure an efficient use of cash.
• Design and operation of the credit control function at ISNL.
• Cost controlling, including both departmental and project costs.
• Preparation of various ad-hoc reports (analytics) for local and regional management.

• Preparation of CAPEX requests.
• Design and implementation of financial policies, processes, controls and systems.
• Supporting the General Manager in the production of the Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan and monthly forecasts.
• Supporting the local management team in the review of CQA/contracts for financial/commercial terms and conditions.

• Supporting internal and external audit processes.
• Supporting the General Manager in certain back office matters, e.g. insurance, IT, property leases.
• Supporting the General Manager in the business development initiatives.
Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of many, if not all, of the following;

• University graduate in Finance / Accounting.
• Proven experience within a Finance environment as a Finance Manager/Financial controller/Finance analyst of a multinational enterprise with a strong background in finance or accounting in previous positions.
• A fact-based, analytical approach to all business decisions, with an emphasis on the financial performance of the team.
• Knowledge of Hyperion is essential.
• Strong skills in Excel (advanced level)
• Should be knowledgeable in Nigerian and IRFS accounting standards (incl. taxation).

• Strong English written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in English through all levels of the organization and with multinational personnel from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.

• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Good understanding of international business environment is beneficial but not necessary.
• Candidates will be naturally fact-based, process-oriented, and results-driven, and have a track record of success in organizations that require and develop these traits.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results by established deadlines.
• Good negotiating and presentation skills.
• Team player, able to work with people at all levels across the business.
• The highest possible level of ethics and values in both personal and professional conduct.
• Occasional travel may be required.
