Chief of Army Staff Lt General Azubuike Ihejirika yesterday said ongoing efforts to effectively tackle the scourge of Boko Haram in the country is been hampered by the open display of interests by Nigerians.
Ihejirika, who was speaking in Jaji at the graduation ceremony of the Quick Response Group Phase 4 Batch 2 in Kaduna State, noted that intead of ‘shouting or noisemaking’, Nigerians should corporate with the security agencies.
The chief of army staff, represented by Commander of the Infantry Corps Major General Kenneth Minimahs, said contemporary security challenges brought out some grey areas in the doctrine on internal security and counter insurgency operations.
“Intelligence application of skills acquired as Quick Response Group in the Nigerian Army is what is needed to defeat insurgency in the country and not by shouting or noisemaking”, he said.
