Sequel to the cries of marginalization of the South West region under the current dispensation by the Yoruba Unity Forum, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has blamed former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for the malaise.
Oba Adeyemi who said the eight year rule of Obasanjo was not beneficial in any way to Yoruba people, stated this while receiving former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, who was on a sympathy visit to his palace over the fire incident that gutted some parts of the palace.
According to the revered monarch, Obasanjo’s eight year rule was characterised by mere lip service to issues that could assist the cause of the Yorubas. This is even as he slammed the former Nigerian ruler for not putting a succession policy in place for the Yorubas.
Earlier, Folarin sympathised with the Alaafin on the fire incident, thanking God that no life was lost. He apologised for his late visit to the monarch attributing it to ill-health.
