A Security analyst, Mr Dare Ogunlana, has taken a swipe at the present crop of security personnel in the Nigeria Police describing them as ‘armed robbers.’
Ogunlana, who made this known while x-raying the Security Situation in the country on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise, said that there was no proper background check for most of the members of the Police, before they were offered employment.
He also noted that the force is made up of many people who joined as a result of lack of any other job to do.
“Some people wanted to be bankers… but because of the problem of unemployment, they were forced to find themselves in Police service and so you see all manner of things that are going on.”
“We have armed robbers as law enforcement agents.” Ogunlana added.

How else can a Police Inspector or Sgt own three buildings and four exotic cars if he doesn’t engage in armed robbery?
