Job Title: Country Operations Director, Nigeria

Job Description

LOCATION: Lagos, Nigeria

Reporting to the Market Director, West Africa, this is an exciting opportunity to join Control Risks in a business leader position sitting at the heart of our operations in Nigeria. The successful individual will have direct management responsibility for the performance of our Nigerian business on a day to day basis, consolidating and growing Control Risk’s Nigeria market share in accordance with Crisis & Security Consulting’s three year business plan.

A key focus will be to deliver pre-agreed business targets and enhance the business of Control Risks Services West Africa’s (CRSWA) Nigerian business by proactively managing all aspects of business operation with existing and new clients, government agencies, Control Risks’ management, expatriate and national staff and consultants.

To be considered for this role you must have lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa and have proven experience in managing complex operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

Operational Management
Oversee the successful delivery of Crisis & Security Consulting (CSC) / Security Risk Consulting (SRC) client engagements to the highest quality standards using the approved methodology.
Input into the ongoing monthly monitoring and analytical reporting of the operation’s performance against budget, including provision of data required for the monthly management report.
Full employment lifecycle management for the CRSWA team, including recruitment, development and motivation.
Manage the day to day administrative management of the office.
Ensure that the company is compliant with all Nigerian laws and regulations.
Strategic Development
Support the Market Director, West Africa with the development and expansion of new services relevant to the marketplace.
Contribute to the three year business planning process.
Contribute to the annual budgeting process.
Client Management and Business Development
Manage relations with existing clients based in Nigeria.
Engage current clients to ensure client satisfaction and explore whether other Control Risks’ service lines are required.
Identify new clients and sell projects for all Control Risks departments.
Implementation of the company’s marketing and sales strategy including the networking of clients within the Group.

Essential:

To be considered you must have:

Lived and worked in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Proven experience in managing complex operations.
Able to demonstrate an excellent understanding and experience of the business and operating environment in Nigeria
Extensive people management and motivational experience in a multi-cultural environment.
Experience with a broad range of industry segments with specific focus on Oil & Gas.
Sound commercial skills with a management and operational management focus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong administrative and procedural skills and proof of “hands on” approach to day to day operations of office.
Proven leadership skills – ability to motivate, inspire and coach team to achieve maximum performance.
Strong training/facilitation skills.
