This position provides technical and engineering support to DCS systems, as well as other automation systems
Desired Skills & Experience:
You will have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a DCS Engineer in the oil and gas field or a similar process industry.
You will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of APP node advanced applications and administration, UCN / LCN / FTE networks, and serial interface and OPC communications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide all engineering technical support to maintain various systems
Review design packages and engineering specifications to ensure conformance with relevant standards and practices.
Prepare conceptual design packages and engineering budgetary cost estimates.
Serve in a technical lead role on DCS, ESD, CCC and PLC system project design and support during implementations.
Support control system project design and commissioning.
Provide technical troubleshooting in DCS process control and the associated auxiliary control systems.
Assess plant facilities and process arrangements and recommend new installations or modifications to improve plant control performance or replacement of defective/obsolete control equipment systems.
Assess the plant safety integrity level and recommend new installations or modifications to improve plant safety performance.
Develop procedures for operations and maintenance teams to maintain system performance from reliability and safety perspective.
Develop KPIs for DCS and auxiliary control systems in terms of reliability and efficiency.
Communicate with vendors and technical consultants to resolve technical issues regarding upgrades, system performance or reliability, as well as new installations.
Participate in, and provide technical support to, the investigation committee to diagnose abnormal process control or issues.
Write letters, reports and design packages for implementing engineering recommendations.
Provide mentoring and knowledge sharing with a view to enhancing control engineering skills.
