Dusk To Dawn Curfew Imposed On Yobe State Following Increased Boko Haram Attacks

yobe_state-300x168Following the increasing spate of attacks in Yobe State of recent by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect, the State government on Thursday reviewed the prevailing curfew in the state.

In a statement issued by the special adviser to the governor Abdullahi Bego, restriction of movement across the state now starts from 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM daily.

According to the statement, the decision to adjust the curfew was sequel to a meeting the state governor; Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam had with heads of law enforcement agencies in the state.

Expressing appreciation to people of the state for their continued support and cooperation with security agents who are working hard to ensure peace and security in the state, the statement called for prayers for peace among the people of the state.

The state government also urged the people to continue to use the telephone numbers provided by the Joint Task Force to report suspicious movement within their neighbourhoods.
