Emmanuel Emenike returned to action in Spartak Moscow’s 2-0 win over Anzhi on Sunday.
The AFCON 2013 highest goal scorer was delighted to be back after an injury lay off since Nigeria’s semifinal match against Mali in February.
The forward was introduced in the 54th minute for Artem Dzyuba and will be in contention for Friday game against Mordovia Saransk.
“I am so happy that I am back fully. I missed the game so much and I hope to start getting in the goals to reward my team for their support,” he told MTNFootball.com.
“When one returns from injury, the expectation is to start doing one’s job and I wish to live up to expectation now than ever before.”
“This is not just a return but a sweet one for me and the team. I dedicated the victory to God and to everybody in the team and I believe I will inspire the team to more victory,” he added.
“I am back not just to be back but to make an impact and inspire my club.
“I have said that the draw at CSKA will boost our confidence and I think that is already working for us and we are in the hunt of more victories like this.”
Spartak Moscow now ranks 4th with 44 points from 26 games, in the Russian League table.
