For the Golden Eaglets to qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates they must earn a point from the game against Congo.
The Nigeria Football Federation, as an incentive, has doubled the win bonus of the Eaglets to beat Congo on Saturday. The Eaglets will now receive $1,000 as their win bonus as against $500, according to the head of competitions at the NFF Sanusi Mohammed.
“We have increased the winning bonus of the boys to motivate them more for victory against Congo. Their bonus is now $1,000 from $500. Their daily allowance is now $100 from $50,” Mohammed disclosed.
In the last group match of the Africa Youth Championship in Morocco, Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will face Congo’s U17 team for a place in the semi- final as well as the chance to win a ticket to the FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE.
After thrashing competition favourites Ghana 6- 1, the Eaglets failed to beat Ivory Coast on Matchday 2, losing the match by a lone goal.
