Newcastle United Goalkeeper Tim Krul has been ruled out for the reminder of the season after dislocating his shoulder during his side’s 3- 0 loss to Sunderland at St James’ Park.
The Dutchman recently returned to the starting line- up after an ankle injury kept him on the sideline for a month. He was replaced by Rob Elliot after an hour of the Tyne- Wear derby when he awkwardly punched away an Adam Johnson’s free- kick.
His loss complicated matters for the Magpies’ defense as they went on to concede two more goals, one each from Johnson and David Vaughan.
Newcastle Manager, after the game said Krul will miss their remaining five league games.
“Tim has dislocated his shoulder and is definitely out of the season,” Pardew told reporters.
“The loss of Krul and the goal that was not given for offside were a couple of crucial moments.
“Losing Tim lost me a pair of legs and one sub which was difficult. Those two moment meant Sunderland could see out a win.”
The 25- year- old has 5 caps for the Netherlands.
