Metuh said in a statement in Abuja on Friday that one of the issues that would be discussed was the setting up of standing and ad hoc committees.
The statement added that this decision was reached by the party`s National Working Committee (NWC). It said that approval for the NEC meeting would assist in widening the scope of participation by party stakeholders in its mobilisation and sensitisation efforts.
The statement also said that it would help the party’s national leadership in driving the vision and manifesto of the party. It added that this would help ensure the success of Federal Government’s transformation agenda.
The statement further stated that the corrected version of the PDP Constitution approved at its 2012 convention would be presented to the NEC for ratification just as a report on the ongoing NWC ministerial briefing would be discussed between the president and the party`s leadership at NEC meeting.
The PDP spokesman said that the date of the NEC meeting would be announced after consultations with the party`s leadership and other stakeholders.
It would be recalled that the PDP NEC meeting was last held in June 2012. (NAN)
