Kano Pillars will host Heartland of Owerri on Wednesday in the Nigeria Premier Football League. The host team will have to beat Heartland on Wednesday so as to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Current Champions Pillars top the table having gathered 16 points from seven matches, while Heartland are seventh with 10 points.
The man to watch in this fixture is former Heartland striker who rejoined his hometown club from Owerri this season, Bello Musa Kofarmata. Disclosing his expectations to MTNFootball.com, the player does not expect a friendly reunion with his ex- team mates for the period of 90 minutes.
“It is going to be a tough game. I am happy that I will reunite with my former team mates at Heartland, but it won’t be a friendly affair at all while the game is on. We want to extend our lead on the table so victory is inevitable,” Musa said.
For the coach Ndubuisi Nduka, victory is not a bargain.
“We know Kano Pillars are strong side, we are going into the game with the aim of winning. No game is easy so we are going in there for a big battle,” said Nduka.
The last corresponding meeting between the two teams at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano ended a goal apiece amid allegations of crowd trouble after the match.
