gov_jonah_jang_plateau1Operators of brothels in Plateau State have been instructed to close down with immediate effect by the state government or face the full wrath of the law.

Mr Abraham Yiljap, the state Commissioner for Information who made this known yesterday in Jos said: “All operators of such brothels have been directed to immediately close down or face full wrath of the law.”

Yiljap, who spoke after the weekly State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Jonah Jang, said government had never endorsed the operations of brothels in the state.

He stressed that revenue officers had always been cautioned against visiting such areas to source revenue, describing brothels as “detrimental” to the spiritual well being of the Plateau people.
