Sunshine Star FC has asked Lille Metropole to double their bid for Super Eagles defender Godfrey Obaogbona, after the French club tabled the sum of 1 million Naira for the service of the defender.
The club now demands N2m as against the initial Euros valuation of the player by the Nigerian club of which the French club has met, in tune of N1m.
“Lille have through an agent made a bid of N1m for Obaobona, but Sunshine Stars say they now want them to double that figure,” a club official told MTNFootball.com.
“Sunshine Stars through a top official wrote directly to Lille and not through the agents demanding for 2 million Naira.”
Efforts to reach Sunshine Stars’ general manager Mike Idoko were unsuccessful.
After his impressive display at the last AFCON 2013 in South Africa, Obaobona has attracted a reasonable numbers of interests from top European sides. The player is versatile for his ability to play as a right- back, central defender or defensive midfielder.
The player has hence placed his transfer issues into the Hands of God, stressing that ‘God will decide.’
