Unidentified gunmen on Monday invaded the home of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Professor Dibu Ojerinde.
The gunmen suspected to be hired assassins, invaded his Abuja home in search of him, but he was not at home when they scaled the fence into his home.
Sources said they forced their way through the back door and gained entrance into his house without the knowledge of the police guards and private guards at his residence.
The gunmen, it was learnt harassed his family, and searched his compound thoroughly with the hope of finding him hiding around. After a fruitless search, the gunmen left without taking any of his property with them.
The incident was reported to the Maitama Police Area Command, after which the police moved in and arrested the private guards and policemen posted to Ojerinde’s residence.
A police source told PM News on Friday that those arrested are currently undergoing interrogation.
The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, organised by examination body JAMB, holds today across Nigeria and some countries abroad.
