Tawo Scores Tukur High After One Year As PDP Executive Chairman

Just one year in office as the National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has been described as a man with great vision for the ruling party and the country.
Businessman cum politician, Emmanuel Tawo made the remark in Abuja at the weekend while speaking to newsmen on the occasion of the one year anniversary of the Bamanga Tukur led National Executive Body of the PDP, reiterating that the ‘global villager’ as he is fondly called has within one year in office demonstrated much savvy and commitment to not only transforming the PDP but also repositioning the fold as a more united, strong and formidable party.
He described the party leader as a detribalised man with a liberal mind that accommodates all interests in the party adding that his fatherly disposition was unequalled since the inception of the great party.
‘He is an embodiment of what you will call a father; pragmatic, meticulous, attentive and very approachable man and these qualities depict humility.
Tawo who expressed confidence in the capacity of Tukur to take the PDP to greater heights, hailed the reconciliation exercise embarked upon by the party chairman describing the move as cardinal to the unity and strength of the party, even as the country was gradually drifting to general elections in 2015.
He said that reconciling aggrieved members of the party would not only restore confidence on party but would also help to strengthen the bond of unity and faith in the party and more so engender peace and stability which are critical to the success of the party.
He called on party faithful to rally around the Tukur led national executive body in a bid to give them the necessary support to effectively pilot the affairs of the party and also deliver on the expectations of members.
In another development the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has praised the tourism sector of Cross River State describing it as the most vibrant in the country.
Tukur who made the remark at the weekend in Calabar while attending the burial ceremony of the late brother of the Director General of the State Security Service, Ekpenyong Ita expressed satisfaction over the development of tourism in the state.
The PDP National Chairman who spoke through his Special Assistant Emmanuel Tawo who represented him at the event observed that Cross River tourism has grown significantly in the last 6 years adding that he was impressed by the strides in the sector.
He commended the State Government for its premium on tourism which he said has put the state on the world map while acknowledging its huge potentials and benefits to both the economy and people of the State.
Tukur also commended Governor Imoke for his commitment to not only making the sector more attractive but also transforming the state which he noted was already a global destination for investments and hospitality.
‘I discovered that there are many more hotels in Calabar and this is indicative of the fact that the hospitality industry in the state is experiencing a boom and also that the state now witness an influx of visitors which has proven that the tourism sector is thriving’, Tukur said in Calabar.
