Men of the Ogun State Police Command, yesterday, killed three robbers in a gun battle with a gang of armed robbers, who were robbing road users along Ijebu-Ode/ Benin expressway.

Disclosing this to newsmen in Abeokuta, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi said that the policemen attached to Ogere Division, led by one Alimi Akanbi, confronted the robbers at 1. 30pm.

“The patrol team was on patrol of the expressway as usual when they encountered the robbers attacking road users at Alafia junction near J3.

“The police team engaged them in fierce gun battle. Two of the robbers fell, while others escaped. One of them was arrested with bullet wounds but died on the way to hospital.
